ART RADAR
Interview

Five questions to Beate Münch

Beate Münch is a visual artist from Germany. 1966 born in Mannheim, now she lives and works in Mainz. Abstract art means to her the highest way of freedom. The creative expression is not a question of will but of have to. Inspiration she finds within herself and in nature mostly.

How did you get into art?

My roots I have in an artist family. But until I finally arrived in my artist life I took a long way round in the corporate company area. From the moment I started painting I knew this is my way of expression. For me creating abstract art is the highest way of freedom.

How would you describe your style? What makes your work special?

My work style can be described as abstract expressionism. My work is expressive, energetic and bold. I’m always pushing my boundaries and exploring new techniques, using mainly acrylics. Inspiration I find mostly in my inner feelings and emotions and in nature. I work very spontaneously, I never have a plan or certain colours in mind. It’s a  free flow of thoughts, feelings and energy. I start directly on the canvas and layer by layer the work is created.
